From historic shipwrecks and vast underwater walls to hidden caverns, ancient amphora fragments and playful swim-throughs, the waters around Paros and Antiparos offer remarkably varied diving within a relatively small area. Some sites are perfect for a relaxed first dive. Others descend along walls towards 40 metres. Some reveal traces of maritime history, while others are simply about beautiful Mediterranean reef diving.

We explore these sites aboard our spacious 11 m Ocean cruiser—the largest dive boat in the area.

MS Express Samina
Approximately 120 metres of maritime history beneath the Aegean
Explore siteExpress Samina dives are conducted only in windless conditions. Certification, experience, recent diving activity and diver suitability must also be assessed.
The upper structure begins at approximately 18 metres and the seabed reaches around 42 metres. Our typical dives explore mainly between 25 and 35 metres, adapted to certification and experience. The opened car deck, enormous upright ramp and twin propellers reveal the scale of the vessel. The wreck has naturally deteriorated, so our dives are conducted externally with no penetration. Schools of smaller fish surround the structure, while groupers, goldblotch groupers, barracuda and greater amberjacks may be encountered. John Dory can also appear seasonally.Paderonisi Cavern
The cavern that breathes
Explore site
From a sheltered bay, we descend to approximately 5 metres and usually enter through a broad opening at approximately 7 metres.
Divers ascend slowly until they surface inside an air-filled natural chamber approximately 30 metres across, where stalactites and mineral formations appear above the waterline.
As the sea rises and falls outside, trapped air can compress and expand, creating an almost mist-like atmosphere under the right conditions. We descend again and complete an underwater circuit at approximately 15 metres before exiting into open water. There is usually no significant current.

Manna Wreck
An imposing, exposed hull with no enclosed penetration
Explore site
Time has removed much of the upper structure, leaving the surviving hull dramatically exposed and allowing divers to appreciate its shape and scale without entering enclosed spaces.
Groupers, goldblotch groupers, lionfish and larger schooling or predatory fish such as barracuda and greater amberjack may pass through when conditions bring them. Current is normally minimal.

Walls & Deep Diving
Paderonisi Wall
One wall. Many different dives.
Explore site
Paderonisi’s wall system can be explored through multiple different routes. Our Ocean cruiser can also drop divers at a selected point and collect them farther along the island.
Open Water divers can remain within approximately 18 metres, while Advanced and appropriately certified Deep divers can explore deeper sections towards 40 metres.
Characteristic marine life includes schooling fish, groupers and goldblotch groupers, with occasional larger pelagic visitors.
The Doors — Portes
Dramatic topography and a defining maritime landmark
Explore site
The formation rises almost vertically from more than 40 metres towards the surface. A typical Advanced profile explores approximately 30 metres; appropriately certified Deep divers can extend towards 40 metres.
Above stands the characteristic lighthouse. Below are traces of its maritime past. Portes is also the reef on which the MS Express Samina struck.
When conditions align, the shallower sections can become surrounded by impressive concentrations of fish. Usually there is little to no significant current.

Reefs & Swim-Throughs
The Gates
A playful route through three changing natural passages
Explore site
The first passage at approximately 15 metres is the largest; the second sits around 18 metres. The final formation begins as though entering the rock before opening naturally above to daylight.
Anemones and characteristic reef life occupy the formations. Stingrays and Mediterranean monk seals have been seen only as rare historical encounters and are not expected sightings.
Vouvés — Silent Reef
Amphora fragments and a natural spiral ascent
Explore site
Vouvés rises from more than 30 metres to only 2–3 metres beneath the surface. Large amphora fragments appear among the rocks at approximately 15 metres, with further fragments around the lower slopes.
After the deeper circuit, we spiral gradually around the seamount, climbing higher on each circuit until its shallow summit brings us towards approximately 5 metres for the safety stop.
In good weather it can be calm; occasional currents can develop, particularly under certain southerly conditions. Artifacts are observed with respect and never touched, moved or collected.
Red Rock
A relaxed reef with a romantic local story
Explore site
The dive begins through a small natural canyon towards approximately 15 metres, then follows the reef north through 17–19 metres and towards approximately 23 metres.
At the end, adventurous divers can choose an optional narrow swim-through, taken one at a time. It is not necessary to complete the dive. Usually there is little to no current.
Local stories say lovers once spoke about their romances here—and after hearing so many love stories, the rock turned red.
Black Rock
A broad natural playground with flexible depth
Explore site
The reef extends from approximately 3 metres to 21 metres, with changing formations, small marine creatures and details to discover. Usually there is no significant current.
Local tradition says people came here to speak of troubles and sorrows—and after hearing so much sadness, the rock turned black.
Sunken Island
An island-like reef split beneath the sea
Explore site
The submerged reef begins at approximately 5–7 metres. We follow its perimeter as the terrain descends towards approximately 21 metres, then gradually returns towards the shallows.
Large formations and cracks create places to explore. Barracuda are frequently encountered around deeper sections alongside characteristic reef life. The site can offer a more sheltered option under certain wind conditions.
Blue Lagoon Reef
The gentler, bright side of Paderonisi
Explore site
On the back side of Paderonisi, beside the waters of the Blue Lagoon, this route follows the island’s natural rocky contours while remaining within approximately 18 metres.
It is a relaxed way to experience Paderonisi’s underwater landscape and an excellent contrast to the deeper Wall and the dramatic Cavern.
Tripiti
An open-roof cavern finale filled with changing light

The rocky reef takes on the character of a small wall, but the memorable section is saved for last.
A formation initially feels like a cavern before the ceiling opens and sunlight pours through a natural opening, transforming it into an open-roof cavern and natural arch.

St. Nicolas
A relaxed first dive with a new group
Explore site
Beginning at approximately 2 metres, the route follows the island’s perimeter and gradually reaches approximately 17–18 metres.
There is normally little to no current, allowing divers to settle into equipment and local conditions while our professionals understand the group’s comfort and experience before the next dive.
St. Spiridonas West
A gentle introduction from a natural bay
Explore site
After descending to approximately 4 metres, we follow a small reef that gradually extends towards 18 metres.
The route introduces the underwater morphology and marine life of the area without requiring a demanding profile, making it suitable as a comfortable first dive with a new group.
St. Spiridonas East
Amphora fragments incorporated into the reef
Explore site
Beginning at approximately 3–4 metres, the route descends through 12–15 metres and can continue towards 17–18 metres.
Old amphora fragments appear integrated into the rocky environment. Octopus, smaller reef species and occasionally larger fish may appear among the rocks. Artifacts remain in place and are never touched or collected.
Archilochos Reef
A gentle dive connected to the cultural landscape of Paros
Explore site
The reef remains within approximately 12 metres, allowing the focus to stay on comfort, buoyancy, marine life and the feeling of being underwater.
Nearby is the Cave of Archilochos, named after the ancient Parian lyric poet. Local tradition says Archilochos sought solitude here and found inspiration for his poetry.
